Firefox 2.0 Release Candidate 3 Release PDF Print E-mail

Firefox 2.0 is almost here! I just downloaded RC3. I have it installed and have taken it for a spin. The default theme has been polished and has a little cleaner more modern look. The first thing I noticed was that the close tab button was added to each tab instead of being all the way over on the right for the active tab. This is great because that was one of the only features included in IE7 that I liked better than Firefox.

Next cool feature I noticed was the resume a session feature. If you have to close Firefox to install a plugin or your system crashes it will restore your session including any open tabs or filled in forms.

Some other new features are improved handling of RSS feeds and an anti-phishing filter. The RSS feed handling is definitely more user friendly. Once you have 2.0 installed click on one of the RSS feeds on this page and give it a whirl!

You can get your copy at:

(Don't expect all of your plugins, add-ons and themes to be updated or work with Firefox 2.0 yet.)
